Follow an Eightcap withdrawal from request to receipt
A selected payment method does not necessarily determine where every part of a withdrawal will go. Identify the company, original funding sources and each processing stage before reconciling the money.
Identify the account company and the payment owner
The FCA record identifies Eightcap Group Ltd, FRN 921296 and company 12448314, as authorised since 23 December 2020. It also shows restrictions and an Eightcap VIP clone notice. Those records need to be read separately; a clone is not the genuine firm's official payment destination.
Eightcap's international legal page names other companies, including Bahamas, Seychelles and Mauritius entities. The UK record cannot establish the contracting company or compensation coverage for every branded account. Match the accepted agreement to the account number before choosing the relevant payment and complaint rules.
The payment FAQ (the FAQ address used in our 10 October 2026 review no longer resolved on 11 October 2026; confirm the current rule in your client agreement or with support) requires funding in the account holder's name and prohibits third-party payments. It describes a joint-account exception where the named depositing party matches the broker's records. Availability and verification still need confirmation for the particular account.
| Stage | Useful evidence | Question it resolves |
|---|---|---|
| Original deposit | Deposit reference, owner, source identifier, currency and credited amount. | Which funding transaction can a refund be matched to? |
| Withdrawal request | Request ID, amount, selected method and submission time. | What was asked for, rather than what was paid? |
| Review | Status history, outstanding verification and approval time. | Has the provider completed its review? |
| Dispatch | Each refund or wire reference, destination and amount. | Was the request split, and where was each part sent? |
| Receipt | Recipient statement entry, received currency, amount and value date. | What actually arrived after fees or conversion? |
A withdrawal may be split between cards and a bank transfer
The withdrawal page says funds return to the original deposit source. With multiple methods, including a card, it may refund an originating card first despite the method selected in the request. Its FAQ describes refunds matched to individual card deposits within a 30-day window, beginning with those closest to expiry; multiple cards can therefore receive separate refunds. After deposits are fully refunded, it describes the remaining amount as profit paid by bank wire.
Reconciliation illustration: Suppose eligible, unrefunded deposits were 600 on one card and 400 on another, and an approved withdrawal totals 1,300 in the same currency. If the provider confirms both deposits are fully refundable, 1,000 allocated to card refunds would leave 300 for the remaining payment route. This arithmetic does not establish eligibility, refund order, profit for tax purposes or actual dispatch.
Ask for an allocation against each original deposit and the amount still awaiting payment. Do not treat the stated 30-day matching window as a universal deadline for every withdrawal or permission to bypass verification. An expired or closed card needs the provider's confirmed alternative route; the FAQ requests official closure evidence.
A refund allocation, a card-credit confirmation and a bank-wire confirmation are separate records. One successful card refund does not prove the remainder has been sent. Check each destination using a recognisable source identifier while keeping full payment credentials private.
Separate finance review, dispatch and receipt
The withdrawal page describes one to two business days for finance review, followed by the payment method's processing period, with most listed methods taking one to five business days. It also says documents may be requested before completion. These are published process descriptions, not a confirmed arrival date for a personal request.
Build the timeline around observable events: submission, any document request, completed verification, approval, payment dispatch and recipient credit. A status saying completed needs its context: ask whether it means internal approval or a payment has been sent, and obtain the corresponding reference.
For a delay, identify the last completed stage. If review is still pending, a receiving bank cannot trace a payment that has not been dispatched. If dispatch is confirmed, the reference and destination help distinguish an intermediary delay, returned transfer or missing recipient credit. A delay alone cannot establish the cause.
Keep the original request time and subsequent changes. Do not silently restart the timeline when a status changes, or turn a business-day estimate into an unconditional countdown. This review did not verify a particular bank's calendar or a customer's payment status.
Check whether the account currency can still change
The account-currency FAQ describes three states: an unfunded account can request a change; a funded account with no trades may be changeable with processing, bank and conversion costs; an account already used for trading cannot change its currency and would need another account for a different currency. A request does not establish acceptance.
It also says deposits should use the trading account's base currency. A receiving bank may convert a differently denominated transfer at its rate or return it. Before reconciling an amount, identify the currency sent, the account currency, who converted it and the recorded rate and charge.
The deposit page lists different currencies, limits, processing periods and fee descriptions across methods. A method appearing in a global table cannot establish its availability in your region or account. Retain the actual method confirmation rather than assuming every listed currency works through every channel.
When both a deposit and its later refund involve conversion, reconcile the two events independently. Different credited amounts cannot establish a broker deduction until the underlying amounts, conversion steps and external charges are identified.
Commission-free account wording has a share exception
The account comparison labels Standard commission-free but explicitly notes that shares include commission. Raw pricing lists commission per standard lot on each side, with different amounts by account currency: for example GBP 2.25 and EUR 2.75. A generic dollar headline should not replace the account-currency tariff or the instrument's own contract units.
To explain a charge, identify whether it is a trading commission, overnight adjustment, payment-provider fee or currency conversion. The claim of no internal funding fees does not establish that a bank, issuer or intermediary charged nothing. Likewise, commission-free wording does not establish a zero spread.
The cost comparison page dates its comparative spread data to 1 October 2025. That comparison is not the spread on a current completed deal. Obtain the exact symbol schedule and statement entries before attributing a discrepancy to pricing.
Preserve quantity units and whether a commission was charged on entry, exit or both. A standard-lot rate cannot be applied to a share quantity without checking the contract. This review did not establish every instrument's live tariff or independently measure execution speed.
Use one reconciliation for each payment leg
- Match the agreement company and trading account to the original funding record.
- Record the withdrawal request and any outstanding verification.
- Obtain the accepted allocation to each card refund and remaining transfer.
- Match each dispatched amount to its payment reference and destination.
- Compare each recipient credit with the dispatched currency and amount.
- Explain differences with recorded fees, conversions, returns or unpaid amounts.
For a clear query, identify the missing leg and ask for its status and reference. A support acknowledgement establishes receipt of a query, not a resolved payment or reimbursement. Keep any corrected allocation and actual recipient credit alongside the earlier records.
Questions about payment records
Will selecting bank transfer send the entire withdrawal to my bank?
The published policy allows original card deposits to be refunded first and the request to be split. Obtain the confirmed allocation and individual dispatch references.
Does an approved withdrawal mean the funds have arrived?
Approval, dispatch and recipient credit are different events. Use the payment reference and recipient statement to establish receipt.
Can a trading account's currency be changed after trading?
The reviewed FAQ says it cannot. Confirm the account's current state and any accepted request before treating a currency change as completed.
