Forex regulation and broker checks in United Arab Emirates

Check the local authorities, licensed entities, client-protection limits and official complaint routes for United Arab Emirates.

Forex regulation in United Arab Emirates

The UAE does not have one universal register. Check federal capital-market activities in the UAE Capital Market Authority list, formerly SCA; check financial services conducted in or from the Dubai International Financial Centre in the DFSA Public Register. Other financial free zones may have separate authorities.

Regulatory scope and roles

DFSA jurisdiction is limited to the DIFC and must not be presented as UAE-wide authorisation. Federal Capital Market Authority permissions are activity-specific: company registration, promotion or advice permission does not replace authorisation for OTC derivatives or spot-FX dealing.

Client-protection boundaries

Client protection depends on the regulator, exact permission, retail-client endorsement, client-asset authority and contracting entity. FXCN does not treat a Dubai address or UAE incorporation by itself as evidence of money protection or compensation eligibility.

How to confirm service eligibility

Match the legal entity, reference number, current status, retail endorsement, financial services and restrictions in the correct register. A Capital Market Authority record should explicitly show the relevant OTC-derivatives or spot-FX activity where that is the service claimed.

Complaints and evidence to retain

Complain to the contracting entity in writing first and retain evidence. Use the DFSA route for an authorised firm within DIFC scope and the Capital Market Authority investor route for federal capital-market activity. Use the relevant authority for another financial free zone.
