What changed since the August issue

This is the second snapshot of the same 30 core profiles (13 October 2026). The biggest change is where the evidence points: in August, 19 of 69 licence relationships linked straight to a regulator register; in this issue, 48 of 73 do. Click a link in the CSV and you will usually land on the regulator's own register page rather than a firm's legal document.

The shift is the result of FXCN re-checking each licence in October, not a sign that brokers became more transparent. The four added relationships and one rename are listed below so you can see whether the entity you signed with changed.

Figures below were calculated by FXCN from the downloadable JSON on this page and in the August report (13 October 2026).

3. Checking one broker with the CSV

  1. Download the relationship CSV.Each row is one licence relationship.
  2. Filter the broker column.Note each legal_entity and its regulator.
  3. Match the entity in your client agreement. If it is missing, it is not among these 73 active relationships; check it separately with the licence check.
  4. Open evidence_url, or search the register with identifier.identifier_type tells you whether it is a licence number, FCA FRN, company number or NFA ID.

4. Three cautions

  • The comparison is of FXCN's records. An added relationship is one we added, not a licence the firm just received.
  • Two links still need replacing.FXCM's FCA evidence currently points to the FCA clone-firm warning page and City Index's ASIC evidence to a brand marketing page; for these two, go to the register directly.
  • Reachability scope changed. All 79 links were checked from the server this time: 66 reachable, 10 restricted or rate-limited, 3 failed to connect. August sampled ranks 11–30 only, so the figures are not comparable.

How to interpret the numbers

Forty-eight evidence links now point straight to a regulator register, against 19 in the 30 August issue. The change comes from FXCN re-verifying each licence in October and replacing firm documents with register entries; it does not mean brokers or the market became more transparent.

All four added relationships can be found on a regulator register: the FCA authorisation of Gain Capital UK (City Index), Equiti’s licences from Kenya’s CMA and the Seychelles FSA, and FBS’s CySEC licence. IG’s US NFA ID 0509630 is unchanged while the registered entity name moved from IG US LLC to TASTYFX LLC; that is a rename, not a lost licence.

Method

The study keeps the August cohort (D28 publish-gate ranks 1–30), joins it by slug to the 2026-10-13 production evidence snapshot and counts only active relationships. Each relationship is then matched to the 30 August public dataset on brand, regulator, identifier and legal entity to list additions, removals and field changes. External reachability was checked server-side for all 79 links of the 30 profiles.

Limitations

  • Two snapshots describe changes in FXCN’s records, not a market trend.
  • Active describes the FXCN record at the cutoff and still requires an official-register check.
  • One FXCM FCA evidence link currently points to the FCA clone-firm warning page rather than a register entry, and the City Index ASIC link points to a brand marketing page; both are due for replacement.
  • Reachability covered ranks 1–30 this time against ranks 11–30 in August, so the two figures are not directly comparable.
